They say men like Henry Ford, J.D. Rockefeller, and Andrew Carnegie built America, but they were merely conductors orchestrating the power of the working man. As it’s been for millennia, the faces whose blood, sweat, and tears poured into such feats have been lost or forgotten. And the faces that remain have become the invisible. This three-part serigraph series represents the heart of working America, portraying a Roughneck, an Ironworker, and a Steeler as Men of Grit. These are just a few of the many identities the working man embraces, becoming another grunt in the endless cycle of progress.
